To the Clergy, Consecrated Religious and Lay Faithful of the Diocese of Gallup,

Bishop James S. Wall announces two new priestly appointments for the Diocese of Gallup.

Fr. Peter Short, pastor of St. Joseph and Madre de Dios parishes in Winslow, has been appointed as Vicar General. In this position he will join Fr. Matthew Keller, also the Vicar General for the Diocese of Gallup. A Diocese is not limited to one vicar general, especially in Dioceses whose territory includes two states. In this position, Fr. Short and Fr. Keller will be able to assist the Bishop in ministering to the needs of the Diocese as his chief deputies.

Fr. Matthew Keller has also been appointed as Moderator of the Curia. In this capacity he will assist the Bishop in administrative duties and supervision of Diocesan offices.

Please keep Fr. Short and Fr. Keller in your prayers as they assume their new roles.

Communications Director
