Obituary: Deacon Filomeno Garcia Ulibarri (1935-2023)

From Burnham Mortuary: “Deacon Filomeno Garcia Ulibarri, Jr., 87, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 at his home in Concho. He was born May 16, 1935 in St. Johns, the son of Filomeno Moreno Ulibarri and Adelaida Garcia.

“Filomeno served his country in the United States Marines. He is survived by his wife, Juanita S Ulibarri, Concho; sons, Arthur R. Ulibarri, Flagstaff; Philip D. (Barbara) Ulibarri, Raleigh, North Carolina; daughter, Beatrice M. (Michael) Gallegos, Williams; brothers, Arcenio Ulibarri, Manuel Ulibarri, Jimmy Ulibarri, Thomas Ulibarri, 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.

“He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Rudolf Dean Ulibarri, Filomeno S. Ulibarri, sisters, Sophia Marez, Mary Ulibarri and brother, Tobias Ulibarri.

“Rosary will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at San Rafael Catholic Church, Concho, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the services at the Concho Catholic Cemetery.”

A potluck reception will be held after the interment.

Deacon Filomeno was ordained in 1999, and served in the parishes at Concho and St. Johns until his retirement in 2010. Please pray that his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, will rest in the peace of Christ.
