Suzanne Hammons is the editor of the Voice of the Southwest and the media coordinator for the Diocese of Gallup. A graduate of Benedictine College in Kansas, she joined the Diocesan staff in 2012.

Catholic Engaged Encounter is an international organization of dedicated couples and priests with a ministry to help prepare couples for the Sacrament of Marriage. It is considered the premiere preparation experience by many pastors. The weekend is not intended to replace the pastoral aspect of marriage preparation but it addresses a broad spectrum of issues that face couples as they prepare to marry. Studies have proven its benefit to the stability of those marriages, especially in the critical first years. The outline of the weekend was recently updated to help make the material even more relevant to engaged couples of the current age. The remaining Engaged Encounter Weekends for the Diocese of Gallup for 2014 are:

June 6-8, 2014
October 10-12, 2014

Location: Sacred Heart Retreat Center, Gallup

Cost: $85.00/couple for the weekend (only $50.00 for those who prefer to commute)
