Downton Abbey was a surprise smash hit from PBS, a show that revolved around the lives of an aristocratic English family and their servants in the early 20th century. Aside from being a compelling period drama, it also managed to convey strong storylines on the themes of family, marriage, and most prominently, the crucial role of stewardship in the management of livelihoods.
