NM Political Ad Didn’t Come from Us, Catholic Bishops Say
“A political group was wrong to use a letter from the New Mexico bishops for a newspaper ad backing a gubernatorial candidate in the upcoming election, the state’s Catholic bishops have said.
“Two newspaper ads, published recently in The New Mexican and the Albuquerque Journal newspapers, urged readers to “Vote your Catholic Values” and highlighted parts of a 2017 pastoral letter by New Mexico bishops dealing with abortion and assisted suicide.
The state’s bishops say they aren’t connected to those ads.”

Cursillo Gatherings in November
Cursillistas, mark your calendars!
A men’s English Cursillo will be held November 15-18 in Winslow, AZ. Larry Reyes will be the rector with Ed Fritz serving as the assistant rector.
A women’s English Cursillo will take place from November 29-December 02 in Holbrook. Mary Cullen will serve as rectora with Petra Velez as assistant rectora.

Farmington Turkey Shoot Bingo
The San Juan Knights of Columbus invite you to their Annual Turkey Shoot Bingo! The bingo will take place on Saturday November 17, 2018 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 305 North Orchard, Farmington, NM.
All bingo cards are $0.10 each, with 20 games to be played. 19 turkeys will be given as prizes. The game 20 winner will get a complete turkey and ham dinner. The day also includes door prizes & raffles. All drinks, popcorn & pumpkin pie: $0.25. Bring the whole family!
Students Celebrate Halloween, All Saints’ Day
Students at Sacred Heart Catholic School celebrated All Saints Day by dressing as their favorite saints and Catholic figures! Can you figure out who each student chose?
St. Joseph Mission School held a costume contest – the top five winners were, left to right, St. John Paul II as a young priest, St. Kateri Tekakwitha in brown, and St. Kateri Tekakwitha in pink, Joseph and the Technicolor Coat, and St. Mary.
Meanwhile, St. Anthony School in Show Low celebrated Halloween with costumes, food, and a pumpkin-carving contest!
