Eucharistic Pilgrimage To Stop in Diocese

As the three-year National Eucharistic Revival in the United States draws to a close on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, we are excited to launch the St. Katharine Drexel Route from Indianapolis to Los Angeles and invite you to pray before the Blessed Sacrament along the way.

June 12, 2025 – Arrival at St. Michaels Indian School

4:30 PM: Eucharistic Procession and Holy Hour
1 Lupton Rd. St Michael’s, AZ 86511 to 24 Mission Rd. St Michaels, AZ 86511. The procession will begin at Saint Michael’s Indian School and proceed to the church of Mary, Mother of Mankind.

6:45 PM-8:00 PM: Potluck Dinner
Mary, Mother of Mankind Catholic Church, 24 Mission Rd. St Michaels, AZ 86511. A potluck dinner will be provided by the parishioners.

June 13, 2025, 8:00 AM: Mass
Mary, Mother of Mankind Catholic Church, 24 Mission Rd. St Michaels, AZ 86511. Mass will be celebrated by Most Reverend James Wall, Bishop of Gallup.

Deacon Aaron Ordination

With praise and thanksgiving to God, the Diocese of Gallup joyfully announces the ordination of Deacon Aaron Matthew Alford to the Sacred Order of the Priesthood. The Mass of Ordination will take place at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Gallup at 11am on Saturday June 28th.
Solemn vespers, with the Oath of Fidelity and Profession of Faith, will take place at 6pm the evening before, June 27th, also at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
A reception will follow the Mass of Ordination.

Anniversaries

Two Sisters who ministered in the Diocese of Gallup are among 12 Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph (Maple Mount, Ky.) celebrating anniversaries of religious profession in 2025.

Sr. Elaine Burke, OSU

Sister Elaine Burke is celebrating her 75th year of religious life. A native of Louisville, Ky., she was director of religious education and parish minister at St. Mary Parish, Bloomfield, from 1983-88. She also ministered in Grants, in Kentucky, and Nebraska. Since 2020, she has binded quilts for the Mount Quilt Club. She continues to volunteer at the Owensboro RiverPark Center, which she has done since 1992.

 

 

Sr. Francis Louise Johnson, OSU

Sister Francis Louise Johnson, from Mayfield, Ky., is celebrating 70 years. She was a teacher at Sacred Heart School, Farmington, 1967-70. She also taught at St. Charles School, Albuquerque, 1973-80. She also taught in several Kentucky schools, as well as in Nebraska and Missouri. She served in parish ministry in Kentucky for 18 years (1984-2002). From 2003-17, she was coordinator of the Guest House at Mount Saint Joseph. She is retired at the Motherhouse, where she is active in the Powerhouse of Prayer.
