Solanus spent his fifty-three years as a priest in menial service as a sacristan and porter at St. Bonaventure’s monastery in Detroit and worked in the friars’ soup kitchen.
Each year, Confirmation classes from three Gallup parishes go door-to-door, collecting food for the Gallup Community Pantry. These efforts allow the pantry to serve families in emergency situations.
